DuPont Titanium Dioxide R-104 Powder is a rutile-grade titanium dioxide pigment manufactured through the chloride process. It features a surface treatment of alumina and organic compounds, which enhances its dispersibility and provides superior durability, opacity, and weather resistance. With a refractive index of approximately 2.7, it offers excellent light scattering efficiency and high whiteness. The R-104 grade is specifically designed for plastic and industrial applications, exhibiting outstanding chalk resistance and gloss retention. Chemically, it has the formula TiO₂, with a typical TiO₂ content above 93%, and it is insoluble in water but stable under normal conditions. It provides optimal performance in thermoplastic and thermoset systems, especially where UV resistance and color retention are critical.
